It always feels like home when I shoot at The Powell Home. Kristen and Austin’s day was no different. This fall wedding day in Warsaw, NC has been a long time coming. They were engaged 2 years and have been dating for what feels like a lifetime. They decided on a first look and during their first look Austin said, “I am not nervous, because this has always been, but today we make it official!” It truly felt like a forever thing all day! 

We started the day with the girls getting ready in the home on the property! Kristen had picked out gorgeous burgundy dresses for her girls in all different styles. I started with their gorgeous details as they wrapped up hair and makeup.

Her mom, Stephanie, helped her slip her dress on and the day flew from this point forward! I always say a sign of a great wedding day is one that goes by quickly because we are having so much fun! Kristen opted for a first look with her dad, brother, and her groom; Austin. At Kristen and Austin’s first look they exchanged the most thoughtful gifts. Austin gifted Kristen a necklace with diamonds from her grandma’s necklace, how precious! She wore it the rest of the day and her grandma was remembered in such a special way!

They had the most beautiful weather for a November wedding. Warm, sunny skies, and a little breeze. The ceremony was short and sweet and my favorite part was her grandma’s being her flower girls! We danced the night away under all of the twinkly lights and I don’t think I have ever seen so many people on the dance floor at one time, grandmas included! The grandmas stole the dance floor thanks to DJ Jeremy Price for keeping everyone celebrating!

Kristen and Austin day was a little more special to me because this was wedding 17 of the year and it wrapped up the 2023 wedding season. I couldn’t have asked for a better bride and groom to close out the year with!
